Dera Erik, I,m getting in contact with you to ask for your help. I,m a spanish modeller very involved in the Swedish aviation lately, as I,m working on four 1/72 Viggens (take alook if you want http://s362974870.onlinehome.us/forums/air/index.php?showtopic=224773)
Besides this, I am working with the owner of MaestroModels in the manufacture of some improvements for kits of Swedish aircraft, mainly of Viggen. now he has asked me to biuld a master for the extension fuselage on the Lansen with the Viggen radar cone. The problem is that I'm not able to find any good pic or drawing as reference. Could you help? I would be very gratefull.
Please contact me directly at jfvicentea@gmail.com.

Thanks in advance.

Perfect build! Now what colors did you use to give the model a that realistic look? Is it possible to use standard enamels? And have you got any tips in painting this camouflage? Regards // Henrik

Thankyou for your kind and informative comment. I think the situation where a unit receives new or renovated facilities, then disbanded is an international thing. What swedish regiments fear the most is a refurbished mess hall. :)

Hi Erik, Nice build. I like the Predator and I hate the Predator. The 178FW of the Ohio Air National Guard was a fighter unit for nearly half of a century. In 2005, B.R.A.C. finally had their way with the unit and took their F-16's from them. They were a training unit and our government spent millions of dollars on the unit, in essence, building them a new, state of the art base. Right after that, B.R.A.C. announced that they were shutting them down. It's a long story, but the 178th ended up getting two new missions. One of the new missions was that they would become a Predator unit. It's a bittersweet ending to a great flying unit that included such pilots as Chuck Yeager, Bud Anderson (Old Crow), and many others. I almost cried when I found out that the unit was losing their manned flying status. They had such a rich history. Oh well, enough of my crying. I really like your build. You also did a great job on your Fujimi A-6 Intruder. As far as I am concerned, Fujimi makes the best models in 1/72 scale. (and it doesn't cost you an arm and a leg to build one) Again, great job and keep up the good work.

I have managed to walk away from the Kinetic 1:48 Prowler no less than 4 times! I wonder if I am able to withstand it on a fifth encounter.

Nevertheless, I have a load of other kits I would like to build first. most of them 1:35 Swedish armour and one 4 WD box laready in my stack. I plan to get my hands on a CV 9040C and the new SKIF T90.

I believe the Marines were the ones who ordered the version in the first place.
Regarding the exhausts, I saw a picture of the mockup with the tilting nozzles somewhere on the web. Apparently the feature was removed even before the first prototype flew.

It sure is rugged. I polished it with a rag moist with white spirit to remove exess wash, and I only managed to break one of the landing gears, and nearly nothing else. :-)

I am afraid that I will have both the Kinetic 1/48 Prowler and Intruder in my luggage on my way home from 08 Open later this year :D

That is a nice "pre-prowler". A rugged plane that means business!

I didn't know the Marines operated this kind of plane. By the way did you know that the jet exhausts where originally intended to be moveable downwards like on Harrier in order to get a short take of and landing? It didn't work!

Actually it is correct with no parachute packs in the seats, since the aircrew straped theese onto their backs before boarding the aircraft. However IIRC (it is almost 40 years ago since I had a flight in a Lansen) the survival pack should be present in the seat pan.
